Superior performance in the $250-$500 price range.

Bought for my wife with the intention of updating it. There is little information on this model on the internet, but I myself was curious to try the new Ryzen and Vega chips. It does almost everything a normal person would expect from a computer. You literally have to flip a switch to exit S mode. Comes with the usual software you would expect from a complete computer. It has an empty RAM slot which I filled with an 8GB flash drive. Strangely, it looks like there's an empty 2.5" bay that I wanted to fill with an SSD, but it doesn't have a SATA cable or connectors to plug it into. To get to the motherboard you need to peel off the sticky feet on the bottom of the case. Despite my particular complaints, $350 is a great value, and it looks and feels just like I remember $700 laptops. Works like five years ago. In the age of a single USB-C port, it's also very convenient to have Ethernet, USB-C, USB-A, and SD slots. The Sims and the YouTube/Netflix/Hulu machine was just what we needed.

Pros
  • The combination of 2400MHz DDR4 RAM and a Solid State Drive (SSD) gives you the power to play, create and do advanced multitasking so you can do it anywhere. For the smooth running of your games and photo and video editing applications, as well as multiple programs and browser tabs at the same time
Cons
  • Little things
