We're big fans of Best Bottoms here, but I wanted to try them as a cheaper option for kindergarten. They are well made, very soft to the touch, with soft waist ties and tight leg ties. The leg elastics initially caused red marks on my super-bulging thigh, but as it's cut in the crawler that's no longer an issue and I now appreciate the snug fit. still the best fit with our best bottoms (which is why I reach for the best bottoms more often). The best floor options fit better because they have an extra level of lift (4 lift options instead of 3). Fewer placket options inevitably lead to more uncomfortable in-between sizes, where one is too tight and the other (or indeed) looks huge. Our best trousers always look nice and fit. Buttons work too, but only if they fit, and buttons are less likely to do that. We bypassed the intermediate step by fully undoing the two outer latches on the instep of the Buttons covers to make room for the legs, but leaving a zipper in the center of the instep to pull out excess material. It still looks a bit sloppy but it works and looks/sits better than 100% on the biggest lift. Panels: We have small, medium and large hemp/cotton top panels and stay dry too. They're all button compatible, although they can snap a bit stubbornly, but they snap. The large ones are a little too big for Buttons cases in my opinion, but you can adjust them to fit the largest elevator if needed. I definitely prefer the medium sized Best Bottom panels or the large Buttons panels in the center and the high rise along with the buttons. The big buttons we tried are very soft and appear to be just as absorbent as our Best Bottoms but more flexible and tighter. a little more, but that didn't cause us any problems. They're between the medium and large Best Bottom sizes, which stay dry. Equal width at the ends. The width in the middle is the same as Best Bottom. Wider than Best Bottom. Just thought I'd share if anyone is interested in how they compare. I would definitely recommend Buttons Covers and Inserts to anyone who wants to try the AI2 system at an affordable price. While I still prefer our best pair of knickers, for the price I'll definitely be adding more buttons to our stock, especially now that they've added some cool new colors and prints :-)
