I bought it to give my Canon a little more flexibility.

I bought this to add flexibility to my Canon 5D Mark III and didn't want a long cord. I take pictures top to bottom and it keeps my setup neat/clean. The cable I chose is the cable marked "USB-A right" which connects my DSLR to the OTG adapter and finally to the micro USB port on my Android phone. The app I use is called DSLR Controller on the Play Store. It costs around $5 but it beats every other free option currently available as EVERYTHING is a joke. As far as I know, the Canon app only allows a wireless connection, which my camera doesn't have. The only reason I took off a star was that it didn't fit snugly in the mini USB port.
