This set of magnetic components is of very good quality. I felt that the little magnets embedded in the ends of the plastic sticks were well attached and wasn't afraid that they might pop out and be swallowed by my kids or worse. They stick tightly to the set of steel balls included in the kit. Pros: Well made, solid construction, strong draw. reasonable price compared to some other magnetic kits. Many things can be built in free play, which is good for the development of this little noodle! Cons: They're deceptively small, and if you only get one set, don't be surprised if your child runs out of pieces while they're building their show. Death Stars and asks you to order a second set. Just go and do it now, take the two boxes in front. Like all toys with small parts, they're easy to step on barefoot in the middle of the night, get sucked into a vacuum with ease, and steel balls (non-magnetic) roll off the playground and hide under bookshelves and closets. And as always, there is a choking hazard (even more so with magnetic toys). Although I thought my 5 and 7 year olds had stopped doing silly things like swallowing toys, the other night my wife and I got a call from a crazy babysitter who our 7 year old put one of the steel balls in had his mouth and accidentally swallowed it. You! After being startled we spent 15 minutes on the phone with the nurse trying to figure out if we should take her to the clinic. It turns out that she swallowed a non-magnetic bullet and it should pass unhindered. The biggest problems occur when you swallow more than one piece of magnet and they are attracted to each other inside you. The bad news.
