Based on other reviews I was a bit concerned if this would work for me. We bought some new glass pendant lights for our kitchen island and they were narrower than the old ones which made them almost impossible to install because I couldn't get my hand up the glass far enough to screw in the retaining ring. Celebration. My wife's small hands could barely do it, but she could only touch the ring with her fingertips to screw/unscrew it, making this suggestion dubious. I found this and the low price made it a very low risk. It arrived quickly and the smaller end fitted my application perfectly. The small end is about 1-3/4", with small indentations for the retaining ring notches. Its depth is about 1 = 1/2 inch, which was just enough to prevent the bulb socket from making contact before the retaining ring snapped into place and held the glass firmly in place.I could insert the ring into the small end while holding the glass and insert it into the glass and screw the retaining ring s=.I'll try to post a photo as well.
