I have a black Nissan Murano, black Pontiac GT G6 and a brown 1983 F150. I scrub them twice a year and that's all they need. I apply this by putting some in my hands, rubbing them together to warm them up, and then applying to the metal. I've found that the wax seems to last longer if I wait at least an hour before removing the wax. After an hour it does not dry to a white haze like other waxes. I've been using this wax since 2006 and still use it on my cars. It's not cheap and you don't have to work hard to get the job done.
