I used a gaming headset for recording before trying this mic. The headset had a low to mid range, so I don't compare this mic to expensive high end gear. My headset was actually about the same price, but I wanted something I didn't have to wear on my head while capturing video, so a stand microphone seemed like a good idea. The sound quality was not much better compared to my headset. The sound it picked up wasn't clear and about as distorted as your average mic, but I'd say it's better than low-frequency mics that can pick up too much background noise or auto-adjust to pick up more background noise than speech. I liked that it has a volume control and mute button on the outside as it's good to have physical indicators of the situation. I also liked the look and the kickstand works quite well allowing you to tilt it. However, the microphone is heavy, so it can tip over if tilted too far, and the tripod is a bit small for the size of the microphone. Overall it was ok for the price but I don't think it's as clear as I would like for podcasts or things like Twitch.
