Very good but not perfect.

I bought 30 of these to replace a large number of recessed lights in our home. I purposely bought a few extras because other reviewers warned that some of their lights weren't working. The first thing I did after receiving my first batch of 12 was screw one of the rat tail sockets into a table lamp and test each lamp (no point climbing a ladder for this). Everything worked, but a cord came loose from one lamp when I turned off the light. It's okay, it was just misplaced in the pressure clamp at the factory. Let me make a few notes on the actual installation: 1) The new light's OD is exactly the same as the one I replaced, so each light had to be positioned perfectly. If the manufacturer had made this product a bit larger it would have been easier to cover the unpainted area hence -1 star in my rating. 2) I have 6" cans so adjusting the springs from the factory 5" is time consuming and difficult. . Some of the screws on the adjustment clamps are very tight and difficult to loosen without removing the heads. Also, they are very short and difficult to work with if they fall out because you loosened them too much. 3) Many people have complained about the headlights not being aligned. I haven't had this problem, but for a flush mount you MUST insert the mounting springs into the glass mounts. Despite this, other obstacles in the cans sometimes interfere with the springs. I found I didn't always have to change the springs from 5" to 6", but if I hit an obstacle, the 6" setting always got around it. I was my first with the install and performance Lot satisfied so I ordered a second batch of 18. When I tested the bulbs I found that one had a clearly visible crack on the lower case and the second had a barely noticeable defect that you will have to return the whole lot if You have a problem with a lamp so I decided to take the lot because I bought too much (and if it's a factory quality and verification issue who knows if a replacement would be better?) I have them Bought this because I found that some of the original lamps were quite drafty and their placement made insulation very difficult save enough electricity to save the cost of replacement. -up: A few months after installation, I noticed two of these lights on the ceiling of my porch were blinking a few minutes apart. They went out for 30-45 seconds, lit for a few minutes and went out again. I did a lot of troubleshooting and when I put the original bulbs back in they still flickered, so it's not the LED bulbs that are the problem. I've been reading more about recessed lights and found that original lights have a thermal protection switch (TPS) which is usually in the outer box. I cut off the collar (bezel) of the glass which allowed me to slide the glass into the attic, found the box and went around the TPS to see if the flashing stopped. So it was, so THE PROBLEM WAS A PROBLEM IN THE ORIGINAL TPS! Sunco makes a safe IC replacement with thermal protection, so I bought this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08FCXMY84/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and installed it. They work fine. , but the frame is smaller than the original, so there is a ring on the ceiling that needs painting. I would like Sunco to provide an extra bezel that their products can use to cover slightly larger holes.
