I first bought an 8 camera system which was easy to install. But there were 4 cameras in the kit which I thought "put one on each side of the house and it should be good." Wrong. I had to buy 4 more cameras because it's so cool I 100% completed the installation right down to making my own CAT6 cables. I bought a 500ft spoiler, chips and connectors. It was easy to do. A professional installation takes a lot of time, but it's worth it. So when I used my 8 ports I decided I wanted more. This 16-camera system was almost plug-and-play. You'll need to set up passwords and a few other little things, but it's no big deal. Worked just as perfectly as the 8 camera system. A note to remember. The order in which you connect the cameras corresponds to the order in which they appear on the monitor. So if you want them to be grouped in a certain way, make sure you connect them to the NVR in that order. The 8-camera system didn't have an internal fan, but the 16-camera system did. So you will hear it depending on where you place it. I have mine behind the dresser in our master and with the 8th system it can't be detected. But now, with the 16th, a smart cracker can hear it and understand it. Have the sense to take it with you. Maybe I trust the villain too much. If they were really smart, they wouldn't be criminals. So I have a small fan in the bedroom and now it is blocking the NVR fan sound. I would like REOLINK to add a fast-forward search mode. You can start slow motion, but the search must be done using the slider at the bottom of the screen. You can only skim it for a few minutes at a time and I did and was able to find what I was looking for. But how nice would it be to be able to fast forward 2 or 4 times faster. In addition, it should be noted that after all the settings, 90% of your functions, settings and changes can be done from a laptop using a free download application, e.g. B. Naming the camera, ads, setting alarms for email, setting sensitivity , turn on . audio etc. Also note that these are very sensitive cameras. For the ones I've set up to email me when triggered, I set the sensitivity between 1 and 5. They go up to 50 which is never needed. You'll get false alarms when the bugs fly in front of the cameras, but set the sensitivity low and set a small area that triggers and it's not too bad. For example, when I approach my front door, I only have one grid line active, and anyone approaching my door has to cross that area. Worked incredibly. I also set up a special free Gmail account that is used exclusively for the NVR and it sends an email to that account when triggered. I would have liked a bigger hard drive. If you record audio and video on all systems with 8 cameras, you will get about 5-6 days of continuous recording. They can be upgraded to 6TB. I can do this later, or you can even connect an external SATA cable and I believe there is no size limit for that. Overall I like this system and the mobile app works flawlessly.
