l This is the fourth gate we've tried and I'm SO glad I found it after reading so many reviews. This gate is perfect for our needs. We have 2 dogs, a large Rhodesian Ridgeback and a small Spitz and both dogs are kept at this gate. I LOVE this gate and rarely write reviews but this deserves a positive review. Installation was a little tricky because I was working in such a small space, the door was barely big enough to fit in the gate, but it's perfect. Also, the wrench they give you can only be used by inserting the wrench into the nut, not from the outside like a traditional wrench. It took some patience. I'm a pretty nifty girl and was able to install it without any help. Installation was a bit tricky because I was working in such a tight space that the door was barely big enough to install extensions. Tip: Leave the zip ties on the gate until you're done installing the door to keep it from swinging back and forth. READ all instructions before you start, it will save you a lot of time. What I like about the gates: you can install them with baseboards and walls, they are adjustable. It swivels in both directions, it can stay open in any direction after rotating more than 90 degrees, it locks automatically to prevent dogs from running away if one of our kids leaves it open. All three of my children can open the gate unaided (once they have practiced and shown how). You only need one free hand to open it. It can be locked once you've used it to keep toddlers out, the gate is fairly light weight which helps it stay in place over time. Many of the other gates we have tried are sooo heavy and come loose quickly, this one stays in place. I bought extra wall protectors to protect my wall and baseboards but they come with some, I just wanted an extra cushion/protection. This is the best animal gate we have come across. I need another for a large door, will have to contact the company to see if they make one for the larger rooms.
