Review on CableCreation Compatible External Handwriting Radiator by Mark Williams

Revainrating 1 out of 5

An incredible disappointment. Is this cable for everyone? USB cable

I'm sorry that this attractive extension cable was useless for what should have been a simple task. Others obviously rated it positively, and it was the Revane's Choice item. How is that even possible? It may have worked well for others, but it failed miserably in the following two respects: 1. When used with an external USB drive, the drive began to respond erratically and had mysterious "connecting" and "disconnecting" events, triggering a Windows sound event (7) even though I didn't even touch the drive or cable. For completeness, this was used in conjunction with a USB 3.0 port on my HP Elitebook.2 laptop. When using - I can't even say "used" actually - with a Raspbery Pi 3 as a supposed extension cable for easy external WIFI dongle mounting, the Pi just couldn't see the WIFI device at all. When the device was connected directly to the Pi, it worked perfectly. For the sake of completeness, the WLAN device was/is a 7inova 7U300A. What anger and disappointment! How difficult is it to make a simple USB extension cable?! Come on. I was hoping in a few days to show a system made up of a Pi and various attached components, all nicely packaged in an attractive case, for a presentation, but that's about it. The uneducated (!) execution of a simple USB extension cable will prevent me from doing so. I might expect last minute issues from other, more complex components in my system, but not from a long USB cable. Very bad form, CableCreation! Quite surprised and disappointed, Revain's Choice. Normally I wouldn't even send something like this back to Revain at this price point, but I'm so annoyed and worried that I'll do just that. If I could throw that at you, I'd say "Cable Creation". At least do others a favor and diagnose what I'm sending back to you. Much luck. :
