These shorts are very soft and comfortable to wear. The only reason I took a star off the overall rating is that the pockets aren't deep enough: they're slanted and might suffice if they go straight down. But corner pockets mean big things like cellphones fall out instantly when you sit down. My new iPhone 12 Max fell out immediately, dented and scratched; I figured it would be safe in my pocket. If you buy these pants and have a larger cell phone, be very careful. Of course you can argue that I was sloppy and that's not the 'fault' of the shorts themselves, but they aren't the same as the ones being sold. under the same name from the same seller two years ago. The pockets are deeper and nothing has ever fallen out when I sit down. When they changed the design they made the material a bit thicker which I appreciate but seem to have made the pockets smaller.
