Several other products have bad reviews because they are made with poor quality tips. I use them to mark cuts in steel. Unlike soapstone markers, many people use ends that are sharp enough to rest against a ruler and leave a clean line. Will scratch steel, glass and the end of a tested hardened steel file. I even cleaned up weld slag when the jackhammer was out of reach. I assume if they are dropped they will deteriorate but that is to be expected. Sturdy, non-hollow handles that stay where you put them without rolling. For about the price of 1 piece in the store I plan,
