$16 Dremel Engraver. Truth?

What was I thinking! There was a reason I didn't buy a Dremel for years. They're cheap, so they often fail! A $16 engraver? I should have known better. The most important part of the tool, the system that the Dremel used to hold the cutting tool in place, had failed. The small screw could never hold the racquet and eventually broke off. So he failed and couldn't perform an operation. But I'm not really surprised. You'd think they "got it" after so many years! The low price doesn't help if itโ€ฆ

It works great, but you won't make art with it.

My husband and I have our annual Bloody Mary party (applause for the idea!) and he uses them to engrave glasses for our guests to take home. It works great, but you won't make art with it. Luckily he's a bit of a cartoonist so his drawings are sharp but lack nuance or shadows. We also couldn't get the included bit to work with the template - it seems too wide to fit. Also, and I think it should be obvious, it vibrates HIGH. After a while, e.g. B. after 20 minutes, feel strange and become numbโ€ฆ

Engrave everything! (use hearing protection only)

I obsessively write my name on everything I own. All my tools, electronics and other belongings. Before purchasing this engraver I did all of this with a permanent marker and was concerned with the marker wearing off or fading over time. I wanted an engraver but assumed they were expensive because I had never looked at their prices. The word "engraver" probably sounds nice to me. I do not know. Anyway, it was once on my recommended items list and I was surprised that it was under $20. Yes, itโ€ฆ
