I knew it would be impractical to use this on my phone. The LG Stylo 3's front camera is located near the LED display on one side and the proximity sensor on the other. I decided to close the LED, not the sensor. However, I also opted for a tempered glass screen protector, which has a cut-out for the sensor and camera. This means that the webcam cover slider is suspended over part of this recess. Therefore, when I wipe the glass, it shifts a little. This offset would be normal, but I also found that the lid opens to reveal the camera. Since the point was to keep the camera closed, that's annoying. A small thing compared to all the really big deals in my life, but I expected to have to put in a bit of effort opening and closing the lid rather than making sure it was closed. If I ever need to replace the protective glass on the screen, I'll try the on-screen webcam cover slider. I use these soft square reusable cases on other devices (iPad, Kindles) where they work well. I've never liked the way they work on my phones and for the Stylo 3 I had to cut one very small so it wouldn't cover the proximity sensor. This made it so small that every time something touched the phone's face, a small detail was swept away, so I decided to try the webcam coverage slider.
