Review on Spectra Premium 98052 Heater Core by Luis Estrella

I sent the first one back as it appeared to have been bent at the end of the core during production and I didn't want to risk installing a leak. The second part looked fine, but upon installation I found that the tubes were clearly not bent to OEM standards. Once the pipes are installed, they are fed through the installation saddle before being fed through the firewall to keep them separate at the end of the hose attachment. When inserted into the bracket, the tubes touch at the hose ends with about 1/2 inch spacing between them to allow the hoses to be connected and clamped. Not wanting to return it again I made a tube that inserted about 1-2 inches into the tubes and used it to bend the tubes sideways to attach the hoses. I bent each tube about 1/4 inch. Installed it now and it works perfectly. The manufacturer should check their bend data to ensure they are correct.
