The paint is very thin. I started using the color from my collection because it had the best coverage. Using the paint I had was more fun than trying to paint a replica. Some of the instructions were confusing so I just ignored them and did what I wanted for fun. I think these gifts are better if you do what you want instead of pretending to be Van Gogh.
