This review was written by a longtime Apple user. After using Koolaid for years, I decided to make a change. Upgrading the Apple ecosystem isn't easy as it's a big change, but this phone is amazing. It might not be a 2018 flagship, but it's still great. CAMERA: The 12MP camera is clear and bright. It doesn't take the best shots in low light, but it's no worse, if not better than other 2017 flagships. In daylight, this camera shines and performs brilliantly. SCREEN: Samsung has always had the highest quality smartphone screens. The Infinity display takes a little getting used to, but the Supersampling display is no different. The colors are bright and saturated. When the display is set to 1440p (the display is set to 1080p by default), the picture is crystal clear and watching videos or photos will blow your mind when compared to similar smartphones. while offering great features and one not-so-great feature. FEATURES: This phone has most of the features of the 2018 flagships. Fingerprint scanner, face unlock and iris scanner. Only the location of the fingerprint scanner was not entirely successful. When you're close to the camera lens, it can get smudged very easily when you reach for it, but Face Unlock is very reliable and extremely fast, giving you options. Thanks to its glass back, the s8 can be charged wirelessly, and Samsung's fast charging system allows easy and fast charging anywhere. HARDWARE: Snapdragon 835 with gigabytes of RAM might not be the latest and greatest, but it seems perfect for multitasking and everyday tasks. Games are also fast and smooth. It's not a Razor Phone or Note 9, but it's more than capable. All in all, this is a great smartphone and definitely worth considering if you can't shell out $1,000 for a phone.
