Review on Yellow Men's Bayville Water Beach Shoes - Athletic and Water-Friendly by Joseph Reed

I bought these shoes to 1) walk the coral beach, 2) wear them while hiking in the creeks and 3) wear them as hiking shoes while hiking. everything I wanted, just perfect. But (and this is important) they still have a strong chemical odor despite being "aired out," washed with soap, reused, and left in the sun. The smell is so strong that when I put it in the closet with my other gear, the smell permeates the closet and hits you in the face when you open it. The other gear absorbs odors until ventilated. When they were new I washed them a few times and hung them on a hook in the garage and they smelled like a garage. It has improved over time, but even after a few uses and a few months, it's still very noticeable.
