I wanted a rechargeable pencil sharpener for the desk. The cables are a nuisance and I don't want to burn any more AA batteries. So in terms of performance this sharpener is perfect, you get a very portable rechargeable device to plug in when you need it. The sanding work she does is fantastic. However, I have never seen such a mechanism: DO NOT push the pin into the sharpening blades. You stick it through the hole and the mechanism kicks in, grabs the pencil, pulls it into the blades, sharpens it in the right place, and then throws the pencil back for you to take out. Are you okay with that? You have to get used to it. Sometimes I want a very dull pencil to be partially sharpened, I don't always need a perfectly sharp point, and I don't like not being able to control how long I sharpen. I haven't decided yet if this is a 'breach of deal' at this point, it's impractical at the moment and I don't like it. Instructions and promos are typical of these Chinese made products and not in the best English. It's very cryptic to me, like "If the plug-in breaks, press the bottom reset button to quickly return to normal use." When does the gas station go down? Hm. Think before you buy what you're getting yourself into as it's a little pricey for a portable pencil sharpener. 4 stars.
