The medium is super small
Looks like a great carrier but it's really small. Not sure if my 8 lb Maltese can stay in it during our 2 hour flight. He's a curler, which might be fine, but if your pup loves to stretch, he won't have much room to lay down or stand up. Average size seems big for a toy pup but I think my little pup might fit like a new pair of shoes that are too small. You know the ones that are being sold at the ridiculously low price you MUST have and are telling yourself? Yes the! LAUGH OUT LOUD
