Almost correct forms?

I didn't get this for the cookie and I'm sure most people coming to this review will find out. I have them for polymer clay. With that in mind I will continue my review! Thus, these cutters are made by folding steel sheet/strip. The steel is usually placed in a small press and, if necessary, corners are formed along the strip to give the desired shape. This can be done by machine or by hand. Then the strips are cut and welded at one point with tacks; Riveting is also an option. I think complex designs like stars were machine made because they are very precise, well formed and the ends come together evenly. I believe some of the "simpler" shapes were handcrafted. The rectangles aren't all the same proportions, some other shapes look a little off, and more than one cutter has some sharp metal sticking out because the edges aren't lined up properly and the staple was still positioned so the strip wasn't did disappear. This is also the cause of wonky shapes - twisted stripes/irregular angles. So yes, you get what you pay for. I was really just looking for small circles and maybe other basic shapes (squares, triangles, maybe ovals or rectangles), but it might be fun to play around with different shapes to see what they can be used for. Just be careful with use and clean because of the edges. Clay sticks to them (obviously) very well. I would use cotton swabs, new baby toothbrushes, baby bottle nipple brushes, or straw brushes to clean them; everything you need in your little crevice cleaning kit and tools (if you're a handyman and don't have that little thing - shame on you need a separate kit to clean your little things!).
