I've installed outdoor speakers before (15+ years ago) and they haven't changed much. These are patio/porch speakers, NOT waterproof, underwater or in snow. Their frequency response means the range of sound they produce is decent for a small 90-20kHz speaker. Neither the earthquake nor the high frequencies of the timpani are a normal decent sound. I think they are best suited for placement under the eaves and background music outside. Their impedance is 8 ohms, the industry standard for most amplifiers. There are direct speakers that require an amplifier or preamplifier to be connected.
