Review on Cozy and Realistic: Discover the Kurt Adler 7-Light Flicker Flame Candle Light Set by Michael Alves

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Fast assembly required

I just hung two new boxes on my tree. I was a little surprised when I opened the first box and had to attach clips and springs to 5 out of 7 candles. In the second box were 3 pieces that needed to be assembled. Also, as I was stringing the first set around my tree, I noticed that the last candle was not lit. Knowing the nature of these bulbs (I bought a set from a local Christmas store a few years ago) I wasn't surprised that one of them didn't light up. When I got to this candle, I found that the bulb was broken. Surprisingly, there was no broken glass in this box, otherwise I would have caught my hands when throwing away the loose springs and clips. As I said, I bought one of these strings a few years ago, so I learned early on that lightbulbs can be a bit finicky. After one of them stopped working, I ordered replacement bulbs. But before I could replace it, I found that the broken bulb worked again. That's when I learned that they sometimes stop working when they overheat and turn back on when they've cooled sufficiently. Sometimes they refuse to work at startup but start working later. For that reason, the fact that a lightbulb didn't light up immediately didn't bother me too much. When I found out it was broken I'm not happy with it but I have spare bulbs from my first round. They glow and flicker well, but they're still a bit pricey for only 7 bulbs per filament!
