Review on Cciyu Purple Instrument Cluster Indicator by Brent Rosecrans

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Cheap and delicate.

I had many problems with these lights. First, they are naturally polarized. Not all LEDs are polarized, but they are. No problem if you know which side is grounded on both the LED and the dash. My dash was half up, half down. But that's not the fault of the world. The problem with light is that connections are very finicky, fickle and delicate. If you don't have a gap, "just right". I mean, within a fraction of a millimeter of perfection, it will either come loose and you'll have to try again, or all the joints will bend. And that's one more thing, it's very easy to bend all the joints. No screwdriver required. Just twist and all connections are bent. And you only get 1 or 2 chances to get it right before instant disconnect. They are so difficult to fix that I had to take the dash apart and work on them on the opposite side of the board to get them all. work properly. And it wasn't easy to bend everything the way it should be with a magnifying glass, tweezers and needles. It took almost 3 hours and I messed up 5 of them before I got 10 exactly as they should be. I was hoping it would tend toward purple, but that doesn't seem to be the case. It really is on the border between pink and purple.
