We bought this door to replace an old, small door that wasn't transparent when we got a new cat (large Maine Coon). The only complaint we have is that the magnets need to be a bit stronger or bigger, especially with a large door where you're dealing with a larger animal strong enough to handle. Or maybe the door itself needs to be heavier. Our door is constructed of 3/4" thick plywood and fitted into a standard double casement window. It stays in place year round with the exception of January/February when New England has its coldest days. Unfortunately the door opens on windy days at gunpoint.and then doesn't close completely so we're left with a draft.We ended up adding weight to the valve by gluing on lead tape used for golf clubs.Then 10 months later both magnets fell out and i was only able to find one of them i didn't see any sign that they were glued on which i will do if i find a way to fix it with some old magnets we might have at home i am mine not sure if i will buy this one again but maybe i have the same measurements because i don't have to make a new plywood edge.
