This is misleading as it is being sold for candy. I bought this thermometer to make candy and while I've seen it not been left in hot liquids over 300 degrees for more than a minute, I only pull it up to 300 degrees so I figured it would work fine. I liked the fact that the set included a potty attachment so I ordered it. It broke the first time I used it, the screen went black, at about 250 I think, so I frantically reached for the papers because my candy was supposed to go off at exactly 300, only to read that when it was cooked, it was NOT in ANY Food should be left, not just in liquids over 300. I call this product misleading because some candies need to be pulled out at the exact temperature, it's not a guess, and if you can't leave them while cooking and if you stand above and have to keep testing and guessing and testing, why do they include a potty attachment? Do not buy this product if you are making candy. You will lose your money and your candy shipment.
