Such a smart design. You can adjust the distance between the two laptop legs to fit your laptop. You have 2 angle options for the laptop stand. The video shows that the legs are bent, but you can keep your legs straight. There are rubber feet on both sides that allow you to use it in either direction, giving you 2 angle options. A fan is not required as the laptop stand keeps the laptop off the surface and allows enough clearance for proper airflow. I saw someone talking about putting their Microsoft Surface Pro on this laptop stand. I didn't think this would work properly as the Surface stand needs to be installed to keep the Surface stable. However, I am writing this review on my Microsoft Surface Pro and it works great! I also put a 17 inch laptop on it and wasn't concerned about the stability. Great product and you can't beat the price!
