Review on DlandHome L-Shaped Computer Desk 59 Inches X 59 Inches by Peggy Snow

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Surprisingly really great table at an incredible price

I've spent a great deal of time finding the exact table that fits my needs. I was short on space and couldn't fit more than 5-6 square feet. The L-shaped table was perfect for my needs, so I set to work trying all the possible combinations. After a few weeks I was frustrated that I hadn't found anything that I thought would work. The desks either have too much desktop depth, minimizing the space I could allocate for my rather large chair, or they were too expensive to justify my moderate work-from-home requirements. After adding some magic terms to my Resuming Search, I finally found this table. The price was amazing. I found it hard to believe that I could get a quality table for less than $200 let alone $100 after the coupon. I put the table in my shopping cart to look at later and kept wondering if it would work well. Considering the price I decided it was worth the risk. I ordered on Wednesday and received it the following Wednesday. First the assembly. It wasn't terrible. I've had my fair share of easier builds, but it wasn't too difficult. First you design the metal frame loosely, paying close attention to how each piece is oriented and upside down (this is REALLY important), and unfortunately the instructions weren't perfect in that regard. If you have common sense you should be able to assemble it without too much trouble. I had to remove and realign one leg after realizing I had rotated it the wrong way, but it wasn't too difficult. Two would be easier too, especially since the middle legs only touch the ground at the back - unless you're careful or creative with the pieces, it can be difficult to put it all together. The whole frame was assembled in less than half an hour. Attaching the top three pieces to the frame was painless and very quick. Once the tops were tightened, the entire frame was fully tightened. I had a desktop in under an hour, which is saying something considering curious kids keep asking me how I'm doing. Durability: This is what surprised me the most. The tabletop wasn't noticeably thick or anything, but it felt very solid and sturdy. It didn't have the pliability or bounce of the MDF (I believe it's actually 1/2" to 5/8" thick plywood) and because it was 3 pieces and well supported around the edges I found the whole construction to be me Was briefly concerned about drilling a hole for my dual monitor mount given the weight that would be placed on that single point, but the mount was well constructed and had a bottom plate that distributed the weight over a large area. The table is holding up well.Layout: I like the metal frame and "wood" layout of the top as the small lip between the frame and the top gives a good place to run cables. After routing the cables around the back panel of the frame I decided to reorganize and put a grommet on top to route my cables under the table. Both configurations worked very well. Part of me wanted the back corner of the table to be a full square instead of a 45 degree cut, but that was just my layout. If someone expects this desk to be in the middle of an office, the sectional makes it easier for you to move around the office. To date I have had it for exactly a month and I am very happy with my purchase. Regardless of the price (and not just because of it), this is a well designed and durable table. I recommend this to anyone who wants to make the most of limited space and want something that's easy to set up. It doesn't have any extra shelves or drawers, so it really is a blank slate to build on. Another point is that there are small computer sleds that fit most computer towers. I found it completely useless, but it was a nice extra that I'm sure could come in handy. It sits on plastic rails and attaches with short screws directly to the side of the panel, which is made of the same material as the tabletop. It's not the best grip due to the particle/plywood nature of the board, so I don't think it's very resilient. Use as you like. Overall, I'm giving this place full stars and my positive rating from the bottom of my heart. I am very happy!
