First of all this screen (digitizer) replacement is on par with all the others I've done, not for newbies. but easily doable for those who are practical. There are many videos on YouTube describing this repair, but I haven't found any that emphasize the importance of bending the ribbon cable properly. The attached photo shows what happens when the ribbon cable rubs against the metal jacket (housing) when fitting the new digitizer onto the housing as the last step. The case has a sharp edge left over from the manufacturing process that can scrape the (very thin) insulation off the cable, grounding those signals and creating vertical or horizontal stripes on the new display that don't detect a touch. When connecting the new ribbon cables to the new digitizer, it is important to fold them tightly so that the bulge does not press against the case when the new digitizer is folded. Second, when you place the digitizer on the case in the last step, use a plastic squeegee to hold it a few millimeters above the case on the cable side and align the opposite side FIRST, then lower the cable side into its final position so that it it can't move. and scrape the insulation from the cable. The seller was responsive and immediately offered a solution. I highly recommend buying a digitizer here.
