Review on Marshall Tufton: Black Portable Bluetooth Speaker - Unmatched Sound Quality & Portability by Van Chay ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The best product, from those that I have viewed, I advise everyone!

I thought for a long time before taking this column. Before that I had Strongpower Amadeus, 2 Philips SB300, 3 JBL Flip4, Klipsch Groove, Bose Soundlink Mini II. After the little ones, I wanted to take something more powerful, but not too weighty and bulky and, of course, portable and in the form of a stationary blender / electric kettle, i. E. with a vertical / cube-shaped form - a factor with a vertical arrangement of the speakers, as I planned to use the column for trips on rolls / bikes and in a backpack. Of the alternatives, there were either incomprehensible Chinese with muddy characteristics and the almost complete absence of any intelligible information, and even more so reviews about them, or the same JBL Boombox (we didn’t have its second version in 2022 at that time), but it disappeared due to an inappropriate form factor (such a column was clearly not suitable for a back pack). In general, after rummaging through the Internet, I realized that there were no alternatives in terms of form factor, quality, performance characteristics and weight and dimensions. It was decided to learn more about the column live. Around the beginning of last summer, I listened to it in one of the stores, I liked it, but I didn’t really want to pay 35k. Then, after about 1.5 months, I realized that I really want this column and began to look for the cheapest price offers. I ordered it on the Internet from our guys, taking into account the delivery for 26 k. They delivered it, I picked it up, then about a year later I checked it on the manufacturer's website, they confirmed its originality. I use it in the Karrimor Independence SuperCool 60 - 100 backpack. The main thing is to find a stand (like a plastic / wooden box with a side of 10 - 15 cm) and provide air for the phase inverter, as it acts as an exhaust and / or air intake. What songs does it play in my opinion badly, regardless of the adjustment settings: 1) Dark Horse - Katy Parry 2) New Hello Morricone (not a paragraph of course, but there is also a bit too much bass) 3) Thrift Shop (there is no bass, but something not so loud) 4) Alive(Radio Edit)

Pros
  • 1) nice concise appearance 2) quality finish 3) loud premium brand name 4) the presence of a carrying strap 5) pleasant material of the strap to the touch (externally artificial black leather, inside - artificial red velvet) 6) a pleasant light indication of the charge both in static (when it is turned on and working) and when charging (it runs from the bottom up (the run starts from the drawn battery icon) 7) the presence of adjustments for low and high frequencies 8) all adjustments are rotary, not lever, which is a big plus for me, since I usually use the column, not as a stationary one 9) the presence of 4 support legs from below, which means that the column can be supported even on damp / wet asphalt or on the ground / shallow dirt and not be afraid that water / dirt will accidentally get inside the column 10) moderate weight and size (12 liters of volume (calculated from the dimensions of the sides) and 5 kg of weight, weighed on a kitchen scale) for its performance, this means that such a column can be carried with you in a backpack for a long time without any problems (but for me with such a weight it’s already better to go than to go) or carry it with you on roller skates, a bicycle, a skateboard, a scooter, etc. According to my observations, it will fit into a backpack with a volume of 50 - 60 liters 11) the ability to work on battery power 12) the presence of a built-in removable battery 13) maximum minimalism both in design and in the configuration (box, instructions, speaker and charging wire), but it is also a drawback 14) the presence of moisture protection, however, for the sake of it, I did not check it directly in the rain, but I carried it in a backpack during the winter snowfalls 15) I don’t know how it is in other instances, but for the entire time of my operation, the speaker collapsed along with the Karrimor SuperCool 60 - 100 backpack from a vertical position to a lying position more than 10 times, once the backpack with it fell from a bench about half a meter high, I thought it would be Khan, but no, the sound quality did not seem to have deteriorated, so the shock resistance is also not so bad. But I still don’t advise you to specifically check it with a sledgehammer or understand it backwards
Cons
  • 1) the speaker plays perfectly, but not always, sometimes there is so much bass in certain compositions that no matter how you play with the adjustments, this problem still remains 2) after using a period of a little more than a year (I bought it in mid-July last year, received it and started using it around the end of July - beginning of August), I found that the standard battery is sensitive to ambient temperature and frequency of use, since the new one it has been working continuously from a full charge of about 5 - 6 hours at full volume, now it’s already 3.5 hours, i. E. if the walk is long (for example, for half a day), then if you want to listen to music as continuously and for a long time as possible, you can’t do without an additional battery 3) although the battery is removable, it will not be possible to quickly change it, as, for example, in a GoPro action camera. First you need to unscrew 10 screws to remove the back cover (for the first time I had to pry it from the entire perimeter with a flat screwdriver, because it was held tightly on colorless glue, you can try to remove it with suction cups, which, for example, remove car windshields), then after removing, remove 2 more screws to remove the plastic clip holding the battery, and then gently pulling the plastic part of the battery connector, remove it from the seat, put a new one in and then repeat everything in reverse order. The first time is dreary, but further, if you have the skill, this procedure will take about 10 minutes 4) even if in a spacious quiet room the speaker seems excessively loud to you, then on a city street or in a quiet park in a large open area of \u200b\u200bspace it will not seem so loud already, or if, for example, you wear it / carry it with you in a backpack 5) after about 9-10 months of intensive use, I began to notice the displacement of the lower part of the decorative grille from the front side (apparently, a 5-inch low-frequency speaker knocks out with its amplitudes at full volume over time). Might be glued on. 6) price
