I ordered 4 cables in different colors and lengths to set up a home network system. IF all your other hardware like NAS, NICs on your computer and router support Gbps, they will do the job. Remember that while cable data transfer rates are measured in megabits per second, Mbps, data transfer from your hard drives is measured in megabytes per second, MB/s (capital B). There are 8 megabits in a megabyte. So when the data transfer happens I get around 90-100 MB/s which is 800 Mbit/s. If you can't get those speeds, look for bottlenecks. My router was one for me, I had to buy a separate switch. Even longer 100ft cables work very well, color coding is a good thing. What wasn't very nice was that one of the four cables was used, with a crimp and a bad end. It was loosely folded in a different type of packaging than the others. I didn't notice any damage to it until the day it was installed and it was too late to change it. I wish I could explain more but my review just got deleted again. Not a seller, but Azscam0zonn.
