Expensive compared to most other wall clocks? Yes, but you get what you pay for. This particular watch uses a technology that is not very common in October 2017. It's receiving a signal from an atomic clock in Colorado, not in the AM radio band that has been used for centuries, but with a newer and clearer signal that has been in use since 2012. Again, not many watches you'll see listed as of 2017 have this feature. Also, the shape is beautiful! Real stainless steel for the bezel, not spray painted plastic. Using two (or four) C batteries is actually a plus, too, since you'll likely live on a set of batteries for five to six years. It doesn't stick out too much from the wall due to the greater depth of Type-C batteries compared to AA batteries, which are also used in most clocks. I also like that there is a switch on the back that allows the second hand to automatically turn off between 11P and 5A, which saves battery life. (It's also very quiet.) Setup is very easy. Choose your time zone and insert the batteries. That's all. Wait a few minutes or so and it will pick up the atomic clock signal, set itself up and stay locked to seconds for years.
