These Treet Classic DE Blades are made from carbon steel not stainless steel. Carbon steel rusts. They are low-maintenance, unless you only want to use the blade once. If it doesn't, the easiest way to avoid the problem and get more than one shave with the blade is to rinse the blade thoroughly after use (still fine in a razor) and then soak it in high-strength isopropyl alcohol (91 -99%) dive . After a good soak in alcohol, the razor and blade should be hung out to dry. No water on the blade, no rust. Now the blades themselves are proof that carbon steel is sharper than its sister stainless steel. These blades are sharp. I can't say exactly how sharp because I'm not able to measure things like that. But one thing I do know for sure: I've never had an easier, smoother, smoother shave; and right now there are at least 20 brands of DE blades in the medicine cabinet in the bathroom. The range of razors I get from different blade brands ranges from terrible to excellent. As is regularly acknowledged, not all blades work the same on all people. However, based on my own experience, I have found that these somewhat idiosyncratic blades are made of carbon steel.
