I've just started screen printing and this is the first ink I've bought. I don't have any other brands of water based ink to compare but I've heard other brands are better but it's better than Speedball. I've printed on black t-shirts with white ink with no problems. Apparently white is considered the most difficult to print as it needs to be thicker to be opaque on dark colors. I bought a water based ink softener to mix with the ink (from another site, couldn't find it on Amazon) and it helps to soften the ink a little and make it go through a 230 mesh screen can press. After thermal curing and washing, the ink looks quite soft (if you add ink softener). You still feel it, but less than before washing. It is washable as the ink will not fade or wash out. I heat it up to 320 degrees or higher with a hair dryer and then put it in the tumble dryer to make sure it dries before doing a wash test. I'll probably try a more "professional" ink next time I need it. Buy a little to see the difference but I think this ink is great. I also bought the black one but haven't tried it yet. I've also tried plastisol inks and have to say the water based inks are a lot easier to clean! have you started.
