Pretty but best on the inside

Build quality turned out to be a bit better than I expected and they look good but after trying both XMP profiles and also Speed/Voltage/Timings manually, they simply do NOT transmit on 4400 MHz. It has also tried every combination of 1, 2 and 4 sticks. Sometimes they posted at 4200MHz (and then not at the next launch), and in most cases - at 4000MHz. This was on an Asus Maximus XI Hero board with the latest firmware and an i7-9700KF. At this point I decided "good enough" at 4000 MHz. I thought the price was still fair and I figured I'd fix the random POST error later, but then I noticed a very high pitched hum coming from my computer. I did a lot of trial and error to find the source and finally found out that it is this RAM. The frequency of whining corresponded to the glowing RGB colors in RAM and disappeared completely when I turned off only RGB in RAM. My previous "good enough" rating was based on the assumption that I wouldn't go crazy every time I turned on my computer, so I returned it as defective. Out of curiosity, I tried one flash drive at a time before returning home. It's time to see if just one stick went bad or I was only able to replace a set. In the first set there was a very loud stick and a completely quiet one. The next set had a stick that was moderately loud and on a stick I could hear but maybe not with the glass back on the body. You have plenty of time to adjust them until you can. Even if you want to run them with the RGB off (but why not get some other RAM), if you like gaming, or if you're too old or hard of hearing to hear high-pitched sounds. One final note: They don't advertise secondary timings because they're slow. So if this is important to you, you will be disappointed. Timings on the box and XMP CL19-25-25-52 at 1.45v.
