Provides excellent access to back teeth

I have been a dog owner my whole life (I'm 57 now) and if you had told me 20 years ago that I would brush my dog's teeth daily I would have would say you were "crazy". Brush your dog's teeth with toothpaste! Are you kidding? But I learned my lesson the hard way. I have a little dachshund that developed severe periodontal disease. His breath could make the whole house stand out, but worse, I was deeply concerned about the pain and suffering that gum disease could cause. Well, long story short, a visit to the vet and a thorough treatment of his gums. and his teeth (including having some teeth extracted) solved his problem, but it became necessary to brush his teeth every day to prevent the condition from returning. One notices immediately that a conventional toothbrush is simply not up to the task. - especially for the small, narrow snout of the dachshund - you need a very thin, small tool to really get to the teeth and molars. This toothbrush is the right tool for the job. In fact, I think the smaller, narrower end of this brush is a godsend. This allows for a really thorough cleaning of all of my dog's teeth, including those hard-to-reach molars. My dachshund LOVES the taste of toothpaste too, which is a huge plus because it gets everything done, a tedious process, less painful for both human and dog. But all of that was a good lesson for me. Oral hygiene is important for your dog, especially as he gets older. (My dachshund is 15 years old!) Dogs' teeth deteriorate like everyone else's and it's important to keep their teeth clean not only to keep their breath fresh but to keep them from painful dental disease, which can cause a lot of suffering. As such, I love this product and highly recommend it and urge everyone to take care of their pet's dental health. You want your pet to be comfortable and happy, which means their mouth is clean and free from pain or illness.
