futile questions what kind of mat is the best as everyone has preferences between rubber, leather, wool, felt, cork, acrylic etc. I chose this one because it's subtle, I've seen how others have demonstrated the least static recording using wool and felt mats and I figured if this doesn't work well with my turntable I can just use it in my cleaning station and it's inexpensive enough that I don't mind. when he gets wet. I can't say for sure if this mat helped at all, but compared to the standard rubber mat on my Technics SL-Q30, which had records crackling with static electricity when I took them off the record after just one listen, is this is a huge improvement. .
