* During the day I keep a tall plastic glass filled with ice water on my desk that I keep refilling. Condensation flows copiously from the sides and spills onto paper towels -- or onto standard "flat" coasters that sometimes flood my table. Continually folding paper towels underneath to catch this water creates an uneven surface for the mug to tip over on.* These coasters solve that problem. They are sufficiently "deep" - 1 3/4" - while the inside diameter is sufficiently "wide" - starting at 3 1/8" at the top and tapering to 2 3/4" at the bottom - to collect heavy condensation. from large cups filled with iced drinks. And while the inner holder is deep, its bottom sits about 1/2 inch above any flat surface.* Another plus is the design. Four curved "turtleneck prongs" create balance and minimize leaning or tipping over my tall cup in any direction. But it will work for most "large" cups with the bottom sizes listed above. See attached photos. Hope that helps.
