Review on Sleek Metal Pocket Wallet: Minimalist Design for Organized Essentials by Emili Hudson

Works as advertised but bulky/prints have sharp edges

I've been wanting to try one of these wallets for a long time but some of the better versions cost $60-80. I'm cheap so NO. I wanted to try something cheap with good reviews so this seemed to fit the bill. When I received it it was well packaged, it came with extra screws and a small screwdriver (nice touch) and it was quite tight. As some have suggested, it seems easier to stretch the elastic before first use. The money clip is very strong and the rubber band seems quite resilient and strong. This cover (mine was black) after a day of riding in the same bag as 4 Quarters showed wear on the side and left a small stain of about 1/4 inch of paint. It's a bit disappointing that it scratches after such little use, but hey, it's meant to be carried around in your pocket so it's not a big deal. I started using it, I put about 5 credit cards, my driver's license and my insurance card in it, it was at least as wide as the wallet it replaced, not counting the money clip sticking out. I put some bills in the clip area and it was strong and secure. Don't worry about losing your pimp bundle from this clip. The only downside to the clip was that you had to fold the bills twice instead of in half, if you did fold them in half they would stick out the edge of the wallet. The wallet doesn't have any "sharp" edges per se, but the edges are well defined, and because of the width, it bled profusely into my front pocket and felt heavy and bulky despite the size. I put it in my back pocket but that money clip was fucking sticking out of my ass so it was impossible. I've been trying this for about 2 weeks and my thoughts are: done as intended. It's a bit thicker than some others I've seen, but the sharp edges and the bulk it adds to the media was the deciding factor for me. I chose the Dockers Leather Minimalist Clip Wallet and it's less bulky, much less visible in my pocket and more comfortable to carry. This is a good affordable quality wallet if you're happy with the width and edges, but if in doubt I'd prefer something leather instead.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors
