Review on 🐧 Master Linux Skills with Ubuntu Linux 16.04 Bootable 8GB USB Flash Drive - Comprehensive Boot Repair and Installation Guide Included by Travis Oetting

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Was installed finally

I bought an Ubuntu Linux installer to install Linux on a separate flash drive. However, I encountered numerous problems, perhaps some of my own. I copied an article from the internet with instructions on how to do this. I had trouble partitioning the flash drive so I ran it without partitions. I installed it but it was very slow and didn't always work. The worst part was that I couldn't boot my main computer afterwards. It turned out that before the installation I forgot to set "device for installing the bootloader" for the flash drive, and it was set by default on my computer. So I had to rely on this failed flash drive installation to turn on my computer. After much trouble, I was able to fix my computer booting using "Boot Repair" from the installer's flash drive. After numerous iterations I managed to get a good setup. In my case it looks like I messed up the install on a flash drive, I need to start with a new flash drive. After a successful install, my only two monitor settings were for a 4:3 aspect ratio. Once again I had to pull an article off the internet to add the 16:9 setting. Linux on my flash drive is much slower than I expected, slower than the OS on my main computer. I gave it a 4 because it ultimately did what I wanted it to do: I had a separate Linux operating system that I could use to access the internet. However, it took several days, many hours and many frustrations to get it.
