Good product though. - Drain Pumps

I bought this pump to pump water out of my 55 gallon (x4) spare drums. Whether this pump was made in America could not be clearly determined due to the delivery and suction parts supplied. I ended up not using any of the parts that came with it. To fit the garden hose on the suction side I bought a 1" male adapter with a 3/4" female fitting as well as a garden hose fitting for that side. For the suction side I bought a 1" male adapter with a 1" female rosette on the opposite end. I didn't like the flimsy plastic bottom valve that came with the unit, so I bought a Revain 1-inch brass valve. Normally most pumps allow you to fill through the discharge side instead of the fill cap, but unfortunately this pump requires you to unscrew the fill cap and fill the cavity. One more thing. Be sure to fill up the PVC hoses/pipes connected to the pressure side, otherwise the pump will not work! I usually follow the directions well, but for some reason I forgot to make sure the PVC on the suction side was filled with water. Regardless of whether your filler cap is filled with water or not, if this PVC suction hose/pipe is also not filled, the pump will not pump water. Aside from the useless suction/discharge parts that come with the pump, the pump works PERFECTLY! I was able to dump a full 55 gallon drum in less than 7 minutes. Not bad considering I did it in 20 minutes with a hand pump! The sole purpose of this pump is to pump water on demand, so this pump should last a lifetime!
