Review on High-Performance Dual Monitor KVM Switch HDMI 4K@60Hz YUV 🖥️ 4:4:4 with Audio Outputs and USB 2.0 HUB - CKL-922HUA-2 by Hesham Peltier

I bought this device to switch between my home desktop and work laptop, each using the same peripherals (keyboard, mouse, speakers , microphone, webcam, monitor 2K x 2). One of the reasons I bought this particular KVM was its small size and audio capabilities. Many other KVMs require a USB audio adapter, which usually results in reduced audio quality for reasons beyond the scope of this review. I am currently using this KVM as intended and it is working fine. I absolutely recommend this device to anyone looking for a KVM switch. However, I've had a somewhat frustrating journey up to this point and I recommend customers take the time to read the following paragraphs. When delivered, the audio output (3.5 mm jack) on the KVM did not work. but later I found out it was just user error. By "doesn't work" I mean I had no sound from the computer when I selected the appropriate output on the computer and connected the speakers to the audio output on the KVM device. The only thing that stopped me from sending it back straight away was that I noticed that if I switched the computer's audio output to HDMI, I would get sound from both the monitors and the speaker. This led me to believe that the device wasn't broken, since sound output was possible. However, after reading the manual several times, I was completely amazed. I'd like to say here that I'm probably more familiar with computer hardware than most people and know enough to read the manual, but it was still a complete mystery. Since there is no user interface for this device, configuration is done using a series of keyboard commands. This is actually good because the firmware is lightweight and the device is OS independent. However, the final reason for four stars and not five is that the manual doesn't provide a full list of keyboard shortcuts. After contacting support (who was very helpful and responsive) I was told that the simple solution to my audio output issue was to press [CTL+CTL+P+Enter]. This switches the HDMI input/output audio to its own dedicated channel. If this team was in the manual it would be a five star rating.
