Review on Walker Products 245 1076 Mass Sensor by Richard Gilbert

Revainrating 3 out of 5

The setting differs from the original. The computer took a long time to adjust.

This mass air flow sensor is easy to install. Two screws, unscrew. Insert new one with O-ring and screw on. Ready. But the setpoint on this sensor was very far from the original sensor so it took quite a while for the car to adjust the fuel trim values, stabilize and get the engine running with the new sensor. I had to drive with a Live Data enabled OBD-II reader, keep an eye on the fuel trim and drive over 50 miles before things finally settled down. This is because the voltage trim point on this replacement device is different than the original device. It works but it seemed iffy for 50 miles on my Nissan Maxima. Because of this I think many people might give up before success which is why I am only giving this product a 3 for value for money and a 4 for installation as the installation involves a sanity check and not just a physical installation. . But it worked which is why I give it 3 stars and it was a lot cheaper than a Nissan branded part.

Pros
  • MAF fault symptoms are poor starting, engine stalling, engine stalling, check engine light and no start. Sensors are not serviceable, replace sensors that are not working.
Cons
  • Expensive
