I bought these lights for a 1950's first aid kit. They fit perfectly and were easy to assemble. The old lamps were cool white, which I didn't really like, so I bought a soft white for the new lamps. It's a little bit pinker than I'd like, but it's okay, they're in the bathroom. If you need fluorescent lighting for your living room, soft white light can be a really good option.
