I had high hopes for this, but the filter has a design flaw. When the water gets too low it stops filtering and I can't access the remaining water without removing the lid. So I have to fill the bottle up with water. Well, that would make having a bottle of filtered water pointless. Especially the one I paid close to $40 for. The filter should be on top of the lid; probably built into the cap and possibly loosing the whole straw to get rid of waste water. The lid also leaks when I lift the straw to drink. Every time I take a sip, drops of water seem to replace my face. When it really works, it works well. The taste of tap water was not detected. Maybe I just have a broken filter/straw? But these things cost $30 to replace so I'm not sure I'd want to invest in a less reliable thing.
