We received this cradle as a gift before our son was born. It was very easy to put together and I like that it has extra storage space, but it does have some downsides. A "mattress" is simply a piece of board with a very hard surface. Yes, kids need a solid place to sleep, but that's too much. It also tilts back and forth as your child moves. Our child was pinched on his sides and couldn't get out. Our baby is now three months old and I ended up putting his comfiest place in it for him to sleep in until we set up his crib. Overall this is a good cradle, but as your baby grows a little it's not the best.
