Excellent headphones. The sound is amazing. They are razor sharp and the details are pin sharp, almost perfect. They have a great sound, very balanced. The mids sound nice and are in the spotlight. Bass is present but not overwhelming. High frequencies never turn into a screech. And the strongest point is the soundproofing. They are great for blocking background noise at work, the gym, and on the plane. Not perfect, but really good. And if, like me, you think active noise cancellation is a sin, you'll appreciate everything they do. I love that you can change the chord, that's the weakest part of the headphones and that led to a lot of early headphone digs, so I love that you can throw a chord while keeping the headphones. I wish they came with a built in mic/remote. I haven't found a chord that works perfectly with the built-in mic, but I can live without it. The only real criticism I have is that I hate earplugs. Etymotic earplugs have always been very uncomfortable. I found the Westone Star replacement silicone ear tips to fit the headphones, fit my ear and provide a great seal, so there is a solution for about $10 and these headphones are worth it.
