Cheap Plastic is the Best in Cycling

I bought one of these in 2017 and installed it on my Giant City Escape, I really liked the light output. At work the bike was parked on a stand and blown away by a gust of wind, no big deal. Deal except the plastic that went into the metal case broke rendering the light unusable. Breakdowns do happen. I bought a new Bright Eyes last March, to be honest I had the bike parked up most of the year due to the bad weather and heavy rain. I don't think that lantern is broken yet, but, um. See the clamp that was supposed to hold the light firmly to my handlebars isn't pulling tight enough so the light keeps slipping off so I have to rotate it. from time to time to put it back in place. If you zoom in on this photo and look at the screw holes you'll see they're a little fancy and now if I'm going to use light I'll need to find some really small washers. or it won't last at all. I do want to mention that I have a parking torque wrench that I use whenever I tighten anything on my bike so I don't over tighten and damage the parts, but that didn't help in this case, the damage is done. So I have a great, very bright light again, which I like very much at 5:30 a.m., but which I can't use because of the cheap plastic. I like the light but I won't buy any other.
