We spent most of our time looking for a cheaper package before deciding on this one based on the reviews. We do not regret this purchase at all! So far we have taken our 10 month old daughter (about 23lbs) on 3 hikes and walked her over 15 miles in a backpack. The backpack is very light and very comfortable. Both my wife and I wore a backpack and the adjustment system allows for quick and easy adjustment to our bodies. Even as I sweated in the Virginia heat and lugged our daughter around with me, she wasn't warmed up in her backpack. The harness system ensures that the child sits securely in the backpack. While I huffed and climbed up the hill, she dozed off in the back! The hipbelt pockets are a plus and the detachable backpack along with the rear compartments offer enough space for all the gear you need on your trek. If you are looking for a backpack for weekend hikes at your local park/trail then this backpack is for you.
